You know.....It's really hard to chose which is the best. But I tell you what, if you fancy a nice juicy Hamburger, got to the take-off lounge in Praslin's(PRALEN) airport. Try the lobster too, but who am I kidding sea food will be komin' outta yo EAZZZ. Love the food..mmmmm. Anywhere you eat it really doesn't make a difference. SEA FOOOD (SQUID)

Well, it's not really a restaurant but we had an incredible chef called Cyril where I was staying on Silhouette - no-one cooks yellow job fish like Cyril does!!Also, when on Mahe go to Sam's Pizza - it's great! This is Cyril cooking his speciality - barbecued fish! He also does great spicy vegetables and lentils, and rice of course!! creole food is so good i'm getting hungry thinking about it! :)p.s. you must also try the 'national liqeur' while you're there - and bring some home with you! it's called 'coco d'amour' (how witty! hehe), and tastes like a kinda tropical version of baileys - much nicer than it sounds!

This is a picture of my starter for a meal that turned out to cost £100 for two of us, at some hotel restaurant. Luckly this was paid for my the Airline as they overbooked our flight and we had to stay an extra day.

Anse Soleil Café: Anse Soleil Café

Small, cozy, simple, directly on a secluded beach, wonderful atmosphere... Your feet in the sand, candle-light, the sound of the waves, a few lovely dogs begging for pats and a bite of your creole chicken!... Remember to book! Julien, the owner, is very strict about it! Ginger Crab, Garlic Crab, Creole Crab, Creole red snapper, grilled prawns, green papaya salad!

Sundown: Sundown

A cozy veranda directly on the beach, the owner mme Céline has it since ages, but has never changed its quality and prices are reasonable. Very good food in a nice atmosphere. Book in advance and know that it's open only a few days a week. Grilled prawns!

Chez Plume: Chez Plume

The owners are a nice middle-aged couple, he's french and she an elegant local lady. The atmosphere is really nice, a colonial veranda, sort of simplified ginger-bread style, aside of a beautiful garden and almost in front of the beach, directly on the main road. It's the best quality price on the island ($15-$25 each ) Ginger Crab!

Sorry, can't remember it's name, but the beef (I ate meat back then) curry was probably the best I've ever had. After dinner we sat in the lounge area of the restaurant. Mid conversation a lizard fell from the thatched roof, landed on my mother-in-laws (our parents came out with us) leg and promptly ran up her skirt! She screamed whilst the rest of us fell about laughing!! Curry, hot, spicy and very tasty indeed.
