Cheap car rental Seychelles
by fafnir82
Car rental in Seychelles is becoming extremely popular, especially with tourists traveling to the islands for holidays of more than 2 weeks. There are several car hire agencies in Seychelles and it can thus be a bit confusing trying to figure out which agency to use. Moreover, there are certain things to keep in mind when it comes to Seychelles car rentals.First things, do not forget your driving license. Without it, you will never be able to hire a car. It is also a good idea to bring your car insurance papers (if you own a car). Seychelles car rentals are not that expensive, but you should only rent one if you will be staying for a few days. Renting a car just for one day could be more expensive than getting a cab. However, it is definitely cheaper to rent a car for five days or more as taxis themselves can be quite expensive. When renting the car, do not forget to read your contract...
If you can, get a car
by miss.kaye
Public transport is infrequent in Seychelles, so if you can, hire a car once you arrive. The buses are scarce and taxis are expensive, and the best places to go are the ones where you definitely need a car. You should be able to have a car meet and greet you at the airport.
Ferry to Praslin
by skippinrocks
One of the best ways to get to Praslin is by the Cat Cocos ferry. It leaves from the port in mahe. The cost is 690 rupees which as of right now is about $60. It is fast, as comfortable as an airplane, has a great view from the large windows and drinks are available for economy. Business class has food also but I didn't get to see that part. You can also take the ferry from Praslin on to La Digue for an additional fee. Once you get to the port in Praslin, there are many taxis ready to take you where you need to go. Three of us got a taxi to drive us around all day for $150 and honestly it was worth it to us. See the website below for more info about Cat Cocos.

driving on Mahe
by skippinrocks
A special note needs to be made here about driving on the island. The roads are not in terrible shape, but there are pot holes to watch for. There are some crazy hairpin turns, very steep roads and it rains a lot. There are many places where there are no guard rails with a drop right into the water if you are not careful. Watch out for the ditches on the side of the road. There is nothing to keep you from going into them. There are only a few traffic lights on the island. The majority of intersections have “round abouts” like Europe. The rules of the road are every man for himself. In general, people are not rude, they just want to pass on a blind curve, in the rain, at night going 60 kph. The car coming the other direction just moves over and hopefully you all fit. Also, people walk right out into the road constantly, so be careful everywhere you go. It takes a while to get use to the...
Airlines and airport
by skippinrocks
Airline service to SEZ (Seychelles) is through Air Seychelles, Qatar Airway, Emirates Airways, Air Austral and Kenya Air. When you arrive, don’t be surprised if it takes 2 to 4 hours to get through customs and wait for your bags. So double the amount of time you think it should take for almost everything. Taxi service is easy to find for the most part.

Getting to the Seychelles
by Saagar
Kenya Airways and Air Seychelles have flights from Nairobi, but not particularily cheap. Many have dreamt of a flight from Dar to Mahe, but not many enough. You have to go via Nairobi. There are no ferries from Africa. There are flights from Mauritius, and good connections from Johannesburg, too.

Public Bus
by Dyesebel
Taking the public bus is cheaper than hiring a car,but unfortunately I can't tell you more about their public transport system.I just know that bus tickets can be bought from the driver,so make sure you have Rupees with you.You may also ask your resort for a bus timetable,I'm sure they have some.
Bike rentals in La Digue
by Dyesebel
Renting a bike in La Digue is very popular because it is the best way to explore the island. But like I mentioned in my main page, you'll have to be prepared for "pains" it will cause (like sore bum) some bikes there are too old and crappy.Remember always to check before using. It costs 10 Euros for a whole day rental.
