We flew Air Seychelles from...

by nikke

We flew Air Seychelles from Zurich. Ok flight...service was good. Other options include British Airways and Air France. Its easy for us europeans to visit the Seychelles but much harder for americans, which is (don't be upset about this) a big plus as the dollar is currently valuable against the euro and US tourists haven't been able to inflate the prices on Seychelles. Then again Seychelles are, even in the absence of US tourists, clearly one of the world's most expensive tourist destinations...it's worth it though. You can tour Mahe by renting a car. You can use the local busses for visiting Victoria, unless your hotel is in southern Mahe. We flew from Mahe to Praslin. It only takes a few minutes and I was impressed about the professional way, in which this transfer was handled. You can also get to Praslin with a high-speed catamaran. We toured Praslin with bikes...and loved it. The...

Plane is the only way I think, unless you are on a cruise and the Seychelles is one of the stops. You can rent cars on some of the islands. Some of them you can barly call cars, but they get you around just fine. Nice way to get around to different beaches. But make sure the car works before you go. And fill up the gas tank, because most likely the gas meter doesn't work. Neither will the speed meter.Nice thing is you don't have to worry about the car getting stolen. There is nowhere for the thief to hide it!You can take a small plane between some of the islands. Some of them also have a boat, or just a boat. The boat rides can be quite bumpy and not very comfortable, and actually not very scenic either. Choose what you prefer. Small price difference as far as I can remember.Taxis are very expensive, and they are very offended if you point that out. Agree the price before you leave your...

We flew by Air Seychelles and they were great....We have hired a car on Mahe and taxi on Praslin..but the real way to see natural Seychelles is to wander around by foot! Having said that both islands have reliable bus services. On La Digue the only options are cycle and foot.

If Your are flying in from...

If Your are flying in from Europe You can chose between Air France from Paris, Air Seychelles from Paris and London, British Airways from London or Lufthansa from Frankfurt. It is easy to get around with smaller local aircrafts, helicopters or by boat of course. To go around Mahé it's definitly the best to rent a car. You will go around the whole island in one day.

From the U.S-airplane through Europe(Paris, Rome) orperhaps through Africa (Kenya). From Europe you can take a dirct flight.Definitely renting a car- the islands are small inaugh for you to cover the whole area easly.

Only by plane.

In Praslin island you can go around byBUS: there is one line going in circle. Every half an hour in one way, next half an hour comeing back.BYCICLE: you can rent one.CAR: if you rent one beware ... there is no traffic, but you must keep left.SHIP: to go and see some beautifull beaches, or other near islands.
