Family Kingdom has both an outdoor and indoor restaurant on its premises. Enjoy a cold "Star" beer with your meal while looking out and listening to the ocean at Lumley Beach.
Favorite Dish: I like their seafood, the barracuda was delicious and also tasty were the shrimps.

There are just a few real restaurants in Freetown and less upcountry. The British Council Restaurant is allways worth a visit if you want cheap and good food in a place with a great view on the city.
Favorite Dish: fishnchips and icecoldcoke

Groundnut Stew
1 pound stewing meat
2 large tomatoes, diced
1/2 cup oil
1/4 cup groundnut paste (peanut butter)
1/2 tsp. "Mrs. Dash" seasoning
1 large onion, chopped or sliced
1 large pepper, finely chopped
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper, optional
salt to taste
Favorite Dish: Season meat with Mrs. Dash. Let it absorb for three hours. Brown meat in oil. Add some water and simmer until tender. Remove and set aside. In the same oil, sauté pepper and onions. Add tomatoes and stir briskly. Mix groundnut paste with 1/2 cup water to form a thin paste and add to stew. Stir, add meat, salt to taste and let simmer 15 minutes over low heat. Serve with rice, boiled yam, cassava and green vegetable.

Any restaurant on the Aberdeen peninsula near Freetown.
Outside in the warm air by the water. Locals will try to sell you all of their carved statues....haggle by all means, but don't insult these hard - working craftspeople, pay them a decent price for their labours.
Favorite Dish: I am a Veggie, so the choices were small. Good Omellettes in most places and the lebanese food is always good wherever you can find it.

We always ate at Dilly's when we we're in Freetown. I wonder if it is still there after all this time and trouble in SL. It was on the ground floor of a building next to the Sierra Leone Youth Organization.
It was just a nice little bar near where we stayed and the owner was goode to us.
Favorite Dish: Fried plantains. It was really a bar.
