The River is beautiful!! It's a pretty long river! We were there during dry season, so it was pretty low and we could see the islands in the middle. It's quite remarkable to see the banks with such thick vegetation and know that it's all still pretty untouched. There are people that live on the banks among the vegetation, but they don't 'develop' the area like places in Europe or the U.S. I hope that makes sense! :-)
