    Locals eating chop (food)

Favorite thing: They speak Krio--which is basically broken/pigeon English. Many of the words are very similar to those in English and French. It's kinda hard at first to understand what they're saying. But to say something is "small" would be close to "small small". So I guess you just repeat words to emphasize. There are many suprises. It's by far the easiest language to understand/speak in the country. :-)

Fondest memory: This is a temporary picture until I find my other pictures of Freetown itself (I'm having some technical problems). This is a "display" of the culture...it's very common--moreso in the rural areas to have many people eating off/out of the same dish. This is at the doctor's compound. He's taken in many people, including many teenagers/young adults. They were kind enough to let our group members take a picture of them.

Favorite thing: It's quite amazing how close the city is to the ocean. While in the market or other places in the city, you can just look down the hill between buildings and see the blue water!
