The Addo Elephant National Park has been blessed by the arrival of these two new cuties, born last month in the natural habitat of the Addo Park, they are stable and very healthy,The Parks manager is pleased in telling us that it is a most joyous time for these near extinct Elephants to give birth in the Park.
Today more than 350 elephants roam through an area that is so diverse that no matter how many times you experience it, its magic will never fail to captivate you. On a good day, Addo Elephant National Park offers the greatest elephant spectacle on earth. The park also offers excellent viewing of black rhino, Cape buffalo and leopard, as well as a host of other large and small mammals and over 400 species of birds in the greater park area.

The Botanical Reserve in the southern part of the park is a nice place to get out of your car and see up close some of the interesting tree and plant life that is endemic in the park. On the south side of the enclosure is a small hide where you may spot elephant and other animals. There is also a spot-a-pot here in the Botanical Reserve, although dirty, it can be a relief after all that powder coffee before the morning’s drive.
Look out when alighting from your vehicle outside the enclosure. There are lion and hyena in the park.
