Bloukrans Bridge is home to the world's highest permanent bungy jump operation, from the 216 metre high Bloukrans bridge. While drivers sail across the bridge in 30 seconds, underneath them, the adventurers face a big drop into the abyss on a piece of rubber band.
For those that can't face leaping into the void, there are trips out to the launch point by zip-wire or just a stroll across the catwalk to the site. All are fairly pricey (R580 for the jump, R150 for the zip wire)
Face Adrenalin who operate the whole operation are a long-established operator, having first started bungy jumps at the Gouritz Bridge in the late 1980s, and at Bloukrans since 1997.
Wonder how they get the jumpers back again? Well here an employee goes down on a winch line and picks the jumper up and they both s-l-o-w-l-y go back up again. Remember not to look down!

The Storms River Adventures company has quickly grown to be the biggest activity operator in the area, offering tree top canopy tours, bungee jumping and a variety of other forest-related activities.
This is not just your ordinary company, exploiting the masses and fremoving as much cash from your wallet as possible. This is a very 'right on' company, both environmentally and socially responsble, and for those who prefer to do business with people who care (about just about everything), it is well worth beating a path to their door.
The 3 hour canopy tours cost R395pp and the forest tour R90 or R170pp. (Diving and extended hikes also available)
Unfortunately we ignored the "bookings essential" notice and when we turned up, the next available slot was three days later. You have been warned. Others we spoke to at Storms River raved on (and on and on and on...) about their experience with these people.
Equipment: All equipment is provided. You bring suncream and a sense of adventure.

Often confused for the beachside Storms River Mouth village, the old village of Storms River Village is a beautiful little forest village, although now it exists simply to serve the passing tourists.
