I had decided in Cape Town that I wanted to purchase a black diamond while in South Africa- but I did not know a reputable dealer. So while in Franschhoek, I stopped in Tracey's Diamonds to ask for a consult. They were out of their supply of black diamonds but put me in touch with their dealer at a store in Cape Town.
The store was small but had a nice selection of diamonds and pearls. The owners (who were there) were very nice and helpful.
What to buy: Diamonds of course. The gems are sold in 18k and platinum.
