This fort was the place were thousands of political leaders and ordinary people were detained and punished for their political thoughts against apartheid. Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi were also imprisoned here. A really disturbing place.

Number Four was the name given to this infamous prison. At this place one can visit also the Mandela Cell Exhibition that documents the Mandela´s time at the prison.
