Good Hope Warnings Or Dangers

It sounds funny, but it's true! Male baboons can be especially dangerous and shouldn't be approached. As in my photo, the females can be approached, but a good distance should still be kept, especially if she has her babies. This baboon was pretty tame but if I got too close she got defensive. It's also important not to feed them or have any food around you when baboons are about - they'll do anything to get your food! Leaving car or van windows open is also a hazard as they have a VERY KEEN sense of smell and will jump into vehicles, steal food and then pee to mark their scents - and it's apparently a very stubborn smell that doesn't come out!
