We have been staying in the Moonlight Lodge and the owners were happy to drive us to a trail on private land in the Magaliesberg Mountains. There you can walk (map provided) on a easy mountain path and see wildlife grazing few meters away from you! (see the photo of the giraffe - it was less than 50 mts from us!)

Here is a description from the Lodge's webpage:
"The Magaliesberg Mountains are well known in our parts of the world, and offers a variety of great hiking trails. Only 5 minutes from Moonlight Backpackers Lodge is a trail on private land with a large variety of wildlife including zebra, girraffe, kudu, impala, leopard and much more. The trails are well marked and easy to walk (no climbing), and done on your own."

    Interesting building styles

Hartbeespoort is a very popular area. A lot of business people working in Pretoria and Johannesburg lives here. Most of the houses have a view of the dam. A lot have their own boat houses and yacht's on the water.

It's nice to take a drive through some of these areas like Kosmos; Melodie, Schoemansville etc to admire the houses.

If you like architecture you'll have fun. Very different and interesting styles.

The picture is a view across then Dam of Ifafi. (I think)
