Favorite thing: Make sure when booking where your accom is situated, do you want the busy street? or how far from sea? or beach? or do you want to be in a bit quieter place? the names of some accom sound as if they are right on beach where in actual fact its not so close, so make sure you ask info and get what you want.

Favorite thing: This area in particular is incredibly beautiful and offers amazing views in any direction. It is worth it to take a lazy walk on the long beaches or even go hiking up the hills around the town itself. There is a route as you enter town (Called the scenic route) which offers an amazing view over the whole area and Bay. The drive bot into the direction and out of town is full of scenery - take your time to take it all in!!

Favorite thing: I only went to Hermanus to go Shark Diving. There are several operators running these trips. I booked mine through the hostel I stayed at - Mobys. However I'd advise against this and book direct, the best operator by far is Brian Macfarlene. On my trip, although we had 3 sharks(or maybe the same one 3 times!) of 3 1/2 metres come to take the bait, the company would not let us go into the cage! it was great to see the sharks but wouldve been better to be under the water. See below for morew info.
Fondest memory: The town is a pleasnt place to walk around. It has many shops to spend an afternoon.

Favorite thing: You may just be lucky to see whales in May, whales have definitely been coming earlier than usual the last few years.Last year I saw whales from May until Dec,( although I am not in Hermanus).
