Jeffrey's Bay Things to Do

  • Ideal for a day's trip from P.E.

This town is just about half an hour's drive from P.E. and so you can do it as a day trip. Pack a picnic and sit in one of the beaches and have a fun day. We sat at one of the shores and had our meal after walking around the town and while my boys indulged in some retail therapy

  • Walk around this quaint town

There are rows of shops selling this and that!! It is a very cute little town. The shops are so different. Plenty of clothing and smart and natural home decor. Very fascinating to walk around this town.

  • Shopping

You want anything surfer wise you come to JBay to get it!This tiny town has more surfer shops than anything else I think! You have the standard shops and you have the factory outlets selling last seasons items at ridiculously low prices - in fact I bought something in the Billabong factory outlet that was still for sale in one of the standard surf...

  • J Bay Aquarium

As I already said, I don't surf and after a few tedious days of walking the same shopping routes I decided that I needed to do something different.I read in my guide book that there was an aquarium here and so Matt and I trot off to the rather unexciting Jeffreys Bay Aquarium. It was cheap entrance fee, a short drive out of town, quite busy with...

  • Everybody go surfing - surfing JBay....!

Surfing is a popular activity here, you can hire or/and buy your board and wetsuit in town.Lessons are easily arranged through several outfits in town, including almost every hostel here! The surf here is great - it's world famous and so that is why the flocks come here. After a good surf, some great shopping it's time to hit the bars which are as...

  • Jeffreys Bay Beach

Jeffreys Bay beach is a nice beach, when we were there in December which is the start of the summer, the wind was strong and the seas were cold.We were quite happy strolling along the beach and collecting shells. The sea here isn't ideal for swimming, being a surfers beach the waves are too high and the current too strong. From where we were staying...

  • Seekoei River Nature Reserve

At the Kabeljous Area in the northern part of the town, nature lovers can enjoy hikes through the indigenous fynbos, with its evocative scent. The Seekoei River Nature Reserve also offers short hikes and the opportunity to visit the Penguin Rehabilitation Canter. Both reserves as well as the Noorsekloof Nature Reserve offer good bird watching...

The Jeffrey's Bay Shell Museum gives visitors an insight into the amazing world of shells and visitors can also buy shell craft from local crafts people. The Shell Museum is situated on Dolphin Beach.

Billabong Factory Outlet: Throw away prices!!

by vpas Written Jun 3, 2013

The Billabong showroom and factory outlets are opposite to each other (at the very end of the town) and so you can compare the prices. You get some second sales at the factory outlet with very minor defects for throw away prices. But be careful to check if the defects are only minor.
Note there is only one toilet in this area where you have to pay and use.

What to buy: Billabong shoes, clothes, caps, bags, suitcases, backpacks. This shop also had clothes from Element and a few other brands that I did not know.

What to pay: We got good t.shirts for as low as 30 Rands and great quality shoes for 200 Rands. Backpacks were 40 to 50 Rands. These are unbelievable prices for Original Billabong and as a mother of teenagers, I was delighted to see them delighted!

Jeffrey's Bay Off The Beaten Path

  • Tsitsikamma Hiking Trail

When you are in the area of Jeffreys Bay, one of the very good experiences is doing only part of the Tsitsikamma Trail, because you needed do all five days and 5 huts. Sometimes it is even possible to stay two nights at the same hut. The huts of the trail are ... Kalander > Bloukrans > Keurbos > Heuningbos > Sleepkloof. You start near...

  • Simphiwe's choice

Contact Simphiwe through Aloe Adventures. He offers a tour called Simphiwe's choice where he'll do what he feels will be particularly fun that day. This can include a night out in the townships, a trip up too Hankey to visit his grandmother, or a visit to Gloria, a sangoma (diviner/healer). It's a amazing experience
