Favorite thing: Long Beach is a glimmering white beach, with an eight km stretch of sand, and its own shipwreck!
You can go for camel and horseback rides on it, plus as its on the side where the sun sets, you are in for a treat at dusk! Stunning sunsets abound practically every night.
Due to rough currents, the beach is not that safe for swimming, but is very popular with the local surfers.
For swimming, people generally go across the valley to Fish Hoek beach.

Favorite thing: If we ever moved back to the valley again, this is the part we would move back to.
Large plots of land and not that commercialised.
It really is a pretty place. It has the colder Long Beach on the one side, and the warmer Fish Hoek Beach only a 10 minute drive away (and that's IN traffic!).
Arty too, which suits us both to the t! There are a few galleries around here, at artists homes and also at Noordhoek Farm Village.
