Chapman's Peak is a much travelled and absolutely stunning drive, taking you from Hout Bay to the other side of the mountain along a windy and narrow road, coming out at Noordhoek (in the Fish Hoek valley).
There has been extensive work done on it in the last few years as there had been some fatalities with rock falls, and so it has been made a lot safer, although this has taken away the natural element somewhat.
There is a toll for driving along here... R20 one way!
The locals arent too happy re this and get a concession. I do think it's a good idea though, as this section of the road needs a lot of maintenance, and people have actually died here in the past due to falling rocks.
This photo was taken on Chapman's Peak Drice at sunset, on the Noordhoek side. The colour of the rock is incredible!

An attraction here is to go camel or horse riding on the beach... great fun and a once in a lifetime experience.
Just be careful when the camel wants to get up or down though, as they dip suddenly, and you might be at a 45 degree angle and have to hold on for dear life!
Also, be careful not to stand too close to their moths... they make fish that's gone off smell good ;)
