We were at Pontac Manor for a 50th birthday celebration and the venue was ideal, with enough space in the restaurant for 30 to enjoy a scrumptious sit down meal, and children to be kept happy with kiddy-friendly fare in adjoining dining room.
The restaurant is lovely, with a small but well selected menu - one of the few times that I've been presented with a menu and thought, "But I want all of these!". Everything that we ate was good and made excellent use of local produce. I was also impressed that the food was well and carefully prepared, but not overly 'fussy'.
Pontac seems to offer excellent Sunday lunch options for those who fancy a day out in the winelands - the grounds are beautiful and set back from the road, so it's a great venue for a family outing where the parents want a children-friendly venue but don't want to compromise on the quality of the food.
Favorite Dish: Don't miss the vegetarian mushroom and rosti starter and vegetable Tarte Tatin for main course - almost enough to convert a lifelong carnivore!
The stubby little British-style pork sausages served at breakfast were also divine - I am too ashamed to reveal how many I ate!
