After a disappointing stop in many of the shops on Main Street (the jewelry shop was selling silver made in Mexico), I stumbled across the Art House and was pleasantly surprised.
What to buy: They carry a lovely collection of art, furniture, jewellery, home-ware, pottery, clothing, handbags and more, all crafted locally. I purchased a bronze necklace and one silver colored one that I wear all the time.
What to pay: I think I paid $60 US for both necklaces.

While at dinner at the Grand Cafe, this lovely couple woman from Cape Town told us about this shop that her husband actually liked going to. The place- owned by the owner of the Hotel/restaurant- pampered husbands by supplying them with sports magazines and serving them coffee. She said her husband actually encouraged her to visit. She also raved about the uniqueness of the clothes - she was wearing a simple gray outfit. So we decided to check it out.
What to buy: The designs were beautiful but I have to admit more for an older woman (in ones 50s or 60s). Sophisticated, comfortable and styles/pieces that mixed and matched. I tried on 2 beautiful silk voile kurta tops- one dark green with fuschia threads and sequins - another with browns and golds mixed in with blues. Unfortunately, although it was the smallest size they swam on me.
What to pay: The clothes ranges from 600R to over 950R.

I stumbled across this shop and factory which was across the street from our hotel. It was closed the evening we arrived but I went by the next morning and was so pleased by what I discovered. Here was a factory that made beautiful wallets, handbags and belts from exotic skins.
What to buy: I purchased a lime green wallet with many slots for credit cards, and a separate pocket for change all with a zipper around the entire wallet and a soft hot pink wallet with many credit card slots - all made of beautiful ostrich - for a total of $165 US. Amazing. You cannot buy a nice leather wallet in the US for $100.

In this store they sell a variety of items, from clothing to cards. Nice to just browse around, but quite pricey.

You see it all over South Africa and neighbouring countries, but they still make a good gift to take home, or even a lovely souvenir. Very colourful indeed. Prices vary.
