Durban Favorites

Favorite thing: One of the things I liked a lot about Durban was the atmosphere that was present in the indoor Shopping centre The Workshop
While the rest of my group was looking & shopping I heard one of my favorite songs being played and song by a talented musican
Nights in White Satin I love that song .
This one man band ,the young man did a great job.

Fondest memory: Also the great sidewalk stalls with all their Crafts and wood carvings etc

Favorite thing: The beautiful harbour where we can see the vast expanse of Indian Ocean from the fishing wharf.

On the Victoria Embankment you can see the Vasco Da Gama clock.

Durban is a Zulu name that translates: Place where the Earth and the Ocean meet.

Fondest memory: Botanical garden with its magnificent display of exotic blooms in the orchid house.

The Indian Market with its wares on display.
Don't miss a romantic walk on the golden beaches and sea front
Have fun at the open-air markets.

Favorite thing: Go to the Golden Mile . Its a huge stretch of GOLDEN beachs that have warm sea's all year round. )St Lucia is very cool. Beware , Its very Touristy , But stil enjoyable.

Went to the Gateways Shopping center. AWSOME - if shopping for designer goods is yoru thing . Gateways will knock you away. ITS huge . Its almost adiferent world. Go see South Africa FIRST Wave rider , Its a man made wave , go and watch the Guys and girls surfing tubes while you have somthing to eat at one of the caffes (YES you did read corect) Gateways has an Awsome Skateboard park as well . Its fully digitized , so you can sit in one place and watch the action on one of the massive screens.

OHHH and YOU have to CLIMB the bigest indor Climbing rock in the Sothern Hemispere. ITS HUGE . Its scary. MY arms still hurt .. Will put up pictures soon.

Fondest memory: Watching the sun go down off one of the many piers.The Warm sea between ones toes. The mist and rain near fields hill (a few KM inland from Durban)

Favorite thing: Aahaa what can be said about durban?.
unspoilt beaches and lots of sunshine makes durban and highly sought after holiday destination
having lived here all my life, there is nowhere else that i would wanna be in South Africa.

Fondest memory: Fondest memory of durbs would have to be the beachfront and the blue lagoon- an hangout for the young and hip.

Favorite thing: Visit the prestine beaches, Zulu culture centres, international port, etc, etc...

Fondest memory: Birds abound, for specialist and novist in this sub-tropical environment of over 300 species; from bush, vultures, raptures, sea, and tropical listed birds are found in abundance.

Favorite thing: Go and see the stuffed Dodo in the museum! If you are interested by the way, you can see the biggest mosque in the southern hemisphere in Durban! You've got to have a Steer's Burger! It explains why MacDonalds isn't there!!!

Fondest memory: I had a great time seeing my friends Mohamed and his wife Fathima, both doctors! I went to the morgue, as Mo is the University's head of pathology! I'm glad stiffs are chilled! PHEW!!!!

Favorite thing: a trip down zambizie river amoung hippo crocadiles fish eagles plus a variety of other wild animal life on the land

Fondest memory: a wonderful water front to enjoy at day time but at night dont venture out it is very dangerous.

Favorite thing: Check out the revolving restaurant situated at the top of a tall building...
Visit the Durban Playhouse - in Smith Street - a venue to arts and culture, take in the nightclub scene, take long walks along the beach and watch the sun set.

Go further South for a bit of 'tamed wilderness' - hiking etc..

Fondest memory: Having grown up here - it holds my fondest memories of my childhood. it's just 'home' to me!
I miss the Sea and coastal region, the traditional curries!
