Little India is an Indian gem, tucked away in the heart of Musgrave's popular restaurant area. Easy to miss on your first visit, the restaurant is reached by climbing a short flight of stairs and is the start of a dining experience you will want to repeat time and again. From the moment you arrive, your host’s friendly service will charm you, leaving you pampered and content at the end of the evening. The cooks are imported from India from both the North and the South, serving up a wide range of styles and flavours that even includes a category known as "Indian Chinese Food". The range of curries is excellent offering a variety of strengths and flavours, and the very whiff of the Tandoori Chicken going past your table will have you calling for your order of the same
It is the more exotic dishes that will pique your interest and your taste buds. Try the Kheema Dosa, a delicate, thin, rice flour pancake filled with mince or the Vada, made from fried green Dhall. It is also the Biryanis that will be another reason to bring you back - delicious in Prawn, Mutton, Chicken, Fish and Vegetable. The list goes on with Chicken and Fish Tikka, Butter Chicken Masala and from the Chinese influence - Spring Rolls, Fried Rice or Noodles and Chicken with Chilli or Ginger. If you can save some room try the Ice Cream with Gulab Jaamun (cream of wheat rounders in sugar syrup, served hot) or maybe the Fruit Sooji. One thing is certain, you will be back very soon. While everybody else were running to Wimpy we decided we want some peace and quiet and seeing that we don't really like Wimpy's breakfast we were ready for a new challenge. We chose Fressh because of the special they had. The breakfast was around R25 with a few additions that Wimpy doesn't have like fried mushrooms. Very nice, big and well prepared and affordable. Coffee was included in the price.

Beautiful setting. On the Wilson's wharf with a view over the harbour and the boats. Big outisde covered deck. Two years ago we were at another restaurant in the same area, in the middle of winter and sat outside on the deck. Wide variety of seafood, from crayfish to normal fish and chips. Also steak etc for the kid who doesn't eat fish. Three of us had calamari and it was excellent. I had a sudden need for creamed spinach and although it did't come standard with the calamari the waiter organized a plate of spinach. Gary had Trout with a spinach and mushroom filling and he loved it.
Calamari cooked to perfection. Anyday as good as Sagres in Mozambique. See my Mozambique page. Leave a Comment Theme: SeafoodPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Wilson's Wharf on the Victoria Enbankment
