Like every city Durban has more than its fair share of crooks. Be careful with your money , Don't flash it. Shop around for prices.
Keep away from Squatter camps and non tourist areas . Don't think you are safe anywere . Try not to wear jewlrey openly . Just think like you would in any major city in the world. Pay attention to your suroundings. if you don't like it , move on.

Well, sadly crime is on the increase in South Africa. Don't be careless about your posessions if you are out and about! I was told by a lady in Musgrave, the area where I was staying that someone is just as likely to stab you to get your camera etc! Yipes! Leave a Comment
