My folks have eaten only once at the restaurant however weren't too impressed. The meal that night was a venison braai (BBQ) and they had quite high expectations of trying different game. They were disappointed in both the selection on offer and the way it was cooked: very dry and over done.
We've stopped there for tea on a few ocassions...to stretch our legs after being in the car for a few hours...the teas are okay...there are a small selection of gateaux on offer. There is a lovely outside section which overlooks the green hills of the game reserve. I have often tried to spot animals while having a cuppa - not much luck to date - but the view is still very impressive.

Address: At Hilltop camp, just past the camp reception.
As we were getting hungry, we stopped at the HILLTOP RESTAURANT for a bite to eat. There is also accommodations located here and it's about half-way through the Park. Wim had the "Curry of the Day", Hans had "Cottage Pie" and I had a triple-decker Club Sandwich. No complaints as we all enjoyed what we ordered. Along with 2 beers, 2 coffee and ice cream our bill came to 61.25 Rand or about $15.00 CDN.

The Mpunyane Restaurant offers a full English buffet breakfast every day.
Lunches from Monday to Saturday are a la carte and on Sundays a hot and cold buffet. Dinners are either a hot and cold buffet or a traditional braai(barbeque) depending on the weather.
There is an attractive pub and lounge decorated with photographs and memorabilia of the history of Hluhluwe adjacent to the dining room.
There is also a terrace menu for lighter snacks.
