Set in a victorian house with interleading rooms. Cosy atmosphere. Opened in 1976 and is still under the personal supervisi of owner / chef Roy Tabernor. Roy`s first restaurant after qualifying in Europe. Els Amics provides a full a la carte menu with a Spanish flavour which includes dishes like Artichokes stuffed with crab, Sopa de Ajo (garlic soup), Gazpacho (traditional Spanish vegetable soup served cold), Caldo Gallego ( a thick vegetable soup with beans and spicy sausage), Chulets de Cerdo Zingara (grilled pork chops with a sauce of ham mushrooms tongue onions and red pepper), Trucha con Almendras (grilled trout with almonds) and with 6 hours notice Roy will produce a Pella Valenciana. Daily specialities are also offered which often include a variety of game dishes from Warthog to Pheasant. A light lunch menu is offered ranging from Curry of the day to Omelettes with a filling of your choice. Els Amics is fully licensed with an extensive wine list at very competitive prices. Roy has compiled his wine list with mostly local wines but a couple of imported wines are also available including Spanish, French and Italian white and red wines. An added bonus is the large off street parking at the rear of the building which enables patrons to relax and enjoy their evening.
