Sorry folks, have to admit I missed definitely almost all hangout places as I was quite often invited to private braais.
Not only the restaurant and food is excellent, the bar is fantastic.
(Bar keepers and people being there - mhm)
Actually, Dharma´s got the BA award for being THE hang out place in Cape Town.
I loved it!!!
Dress Code: none! Not even slightly.
It is a casual place. There are lots of surfers in there, cooooooool!
Capetown has some great nighlife. Everything , live bands , Huge clubs , Strange clubs , Theater . Weekends , the place never seems to sleep. Some places go on until 9 in the morning
Dress Code: Everything from Smart casual , to Rave , disco and a few places offer for some real strange tastes.
The shopping focus of the waterfront is the Victoria Wharf, an enormous flashy mall on two levels, inside the mall you could be in any large city in the world, but the resturants and cafes with outdoor seating have fabulous views of table mountain across the busy harbour.
Down town is best at wednesdays and fridays - FEZ and 169 (colourds) are the best clubs I have been to, you find them right at long street. Green Point is cool too, specially NEWS CAFE and BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB. A must at sundays is LA MED inbetween Cliffton and Camps Bay.
There are few better places to enjoy a cold Castle lager on a warm South African evening than sitting outside the Ferryman's Tavern at the Waterfront in Cape Town. Old Cliffie in fact spent several afternoons there, watching the little Clavens clamber over the pirate ship in the children's playground next to the tavern. The pub grub is okay, too, but their ostrich steaks cannot compare with those at the Mount Nelson.
I had the honor of treating VT Member GlennKasner, his wife Rita and daughter Jacki for supper one night!
If you are not one for clubbing, casino etc but want to do something fun and exciting then join the crowd for a moonlight walk up Lionshead.
Dress Code: Good walking shoes, hiking gear & good torch.
Well it does not really have to be night to go here. The casino is open 24 hours of the day and is always busy.
Cool Runnings is another great bar/restaurant. While enjoying their delicious Cocktails, you can listen to Reggae...a place not to be missed!
Long Street is the place, it's full of bars and clubs, tables in the street also, it starts early, I visited Mama Africa, Joburg and some other pubs

It's only a nightlife spot, but I really enjoyed this nice and new place on the piers.
Many shops and restaurants, and it is also very close to the Aquarium of Cape Town and the IMax Theatre...
Long Street has been around for a very long time and so are some of the favourite clubs, bars and cafe's situated here. There is also the Grand West Casino, a couple of theatres and various...
