 | | | | The Santa Ana Spur: Ride 'Em Cowboy! | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
The Spur, as it's generally called, is part of the first South African restaurant chain. It's vaguely reminiscent of Denny's or The Embers in the US, though the decor inside is rather more sophisticated. We were quite surprised when we discovered a sort of Southwest theme with graphics of saguaro cacti and Navajo rug designs on stained glass chandeliers. Probably the best thing about it, though, is eating outside on the balcony with a superb view of the harbor and Table Mountain. As for the food, they have great steaks, excellent seafood, and quite a few Mexican items, too, such as quesadillas and fajitas. I had a chicken fajita salad one evening, which was decent, though the guacamole wasn't the best I've ever had.
