This was a nice lunch time dining experience. We started with a Springbok carpacio which was delicious and lean. Springbok is a small antelope. My daughter and I ordererd pasta dishes which were very good. And, my boyfriend ordered a hearty lamb shank dish smothered in sauce with some pasta on the side. An African singing group appeared and performed a few songs for us. That was very entertaining. Overall, a nice place to dine at.

Nice restaurant in waterfront, Cape town!
It's feels like home, the ambience is superior.
The pasta and other nice food are very good, I think this the best Italian restaurant of the city!

Favorite Dish: Pollo al Marsala

I have been to the Hilderbrand Restaurant when it was still in the city but I am assured that the food is still of an excellent high quality, all that has changed is the view has got better overlooking the Victoria basin. This Italian restaurant serves a diverse menu all prepared excellently. The ambience is upmarket

Favorite Dish: My favourite was veal served with a side of taglitelle very delicious. I have also had the steak which is superb

Hildebrand Restaurant has occupied various premises during it's 100-year long history. In 1995, the restaurant took over the historic site it now occupies, at the Pierhead of the V & A Waterfront. Overlooking the Victoria Basin, the restaurant and its function rooms have breathtaking views of the working harbour. The food is outstanding and you will receive good service as well. If it is a nice evening sit outside on the terrace and watch the world go by.

We actually met the couple in the picture on a bus from Singapore to KL. They are from Sweden and we only had a couple of days with them in KL. It was great to meet up with them in Cape Town and catch up.

Trattoria style service. Busy place, but fun to hang out. Be sure to make reservations; they stay busy.

Favorite Dish: Good italian style food (despite the name)
