Blouberg lies on the west coast of Table Bay and a relaxed 20-minute drive from Cape Town city centre. Bloubergstrand beach gives a wonderful view of the city, and it is from here that the perfect postcard pictures of Cape Town with Table Mountain in the background is often taken. The coast of Blouberg offers long, sandy beaches frequented by dog walkers and kite flyers. The large crashing waves, supported by the regular strong southeaster winds of the Western Cape, makes Blouberg one of the fastest and hottest places worldwide for windsurfing. Wave jumpers and colourful hobie cats can be seen dotted against the azure of the sea. Fishing, sailing and boating trips are other popular activities. Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, can be seen quite clearly from the beach at Blouberg. Within a stone's throw of the beach, a whole host of restaurants offers excellent dining. Blouberg provides a great variety of modern shopping centres with all that your heart could desire, as well as all other amenities, including cinemas, which can be expected from one of the fastest growing areas in Cape Town. Whale Watching in Hermanus by cokes Hermanus is one of the best whale watching spots in the country, and it even has its own Whale Crier, who announces the sighting of whales with a blow of his kelp horn, calling everyone in the town to come watch these majestic animals of the ocean frolick in the water. In the surrounding Hemel & Aarde Valley (Heaven & Earth Valley) just 2 km outside Hermanus you can embark on the Hermanus Wine Route. This area is fast making a name for itself for its magnificent Burgundy varietals of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Leave a Comment

Fish Hoek by cokes Along the False Bay coast road from Simon`s Town lies the placid town of Fish Hoek. Most of the residents are retired but it still has a busy main street with market stalls competing with shoppers on the pavements. The long sandy beach is one of the safest in the Cape for bathing and body boarding and when the wind picks up, hobie-cats and windsurfers take to the waves. From July to October whales come into Fish Hoek bay and loll around just 50 metres from the shore in preparation for mating and giving birth. Huge schools of dolphins are also sometimes seen. This is a very nice place to go and relax. Its situated next to Strand. Bikini Beach in Gordons Bay is absolutely tiny but its a real pleasure to swim there. Its situated next to the harbour. Make sure you go there early as parking can become a real problem sometimes. The Mountains that you can see in the background in picture is the Hottentots Hollands which is really beautiful. The road from here to Hermans via Kool Bay and Betties Bay is absolutely beautiful, kinda like Chapmans Peak Drive. Leave a Comment

Camps Bay has long been a favourite destination for overseas visitors to Cape Town. Just behind Table Mountain, nestled beneath Lions Head and the majestic Twelve Apostles, and boasting a magnificent palm fringed sandy beach, Camps Bay is a real gem. I`ll love coming here this one of many beaches I enjoy spending time at. Leave a Comment

Clifton Beach by cokes Clifton is actually a series of four beaches, each separated by a stretch of granite boulders. The beach is sprawling and clean, reflecting the brilliant African sunshine off white sand and throngs of tanned bodies. A distinct vibe is felt at Clifton, owing in part to the mystique of Table Mountain, which looms gorgeously in the beach's background, and in part to the glamorous pulse of the surrounding neighborhood. There is tidal pool as well. Leave a Comment

He Guys , if you love spending time on the beach then I highly recommend the Strand. Just driving along the beach gives you this great Holiday Feeling. This is a long stretch of beach and when driving along , everyone seems to be having fun. You just gotta stop and enjoy yourself. Well like I said before in my Gordon`s Bay review parking can be a problem in the peak season so always try to go early. Leave a Comment

Sundowers at Clifton by dejavu2gb Something I religiously do when I visit Cape Town is I have sundowners on the beach. Its the best way to round off a day in just the perfect way. We get a basket with our favourite snacks and some refreshments and walk down to the beach and sit there and watch the sun go set into the Atlantic, its truly a gorgeous sight, and such a relaxing way to end a day of sightseeing. Leave a Comment Directions: Camps Bay or any of the 4 Clifton Beaches.

Well guys I just had to add this picture of Camps Bay. You can see the mountains called the 12 Apostles which leads all the way to Cape Point. Now you can see why you gotta stop here. One other thing that I found quiet cool is that you can walk in and out of the shops and restaurants in your swim suit because everything is directly apposite the beach. No one cares. If you a sports car fan , just drive through Camps Bay at night and surely gonna see quiet a bit of them just parked their. There is some lovely restaurants for you to go and checkout there as well.
