Simon's town is a naval base. first Dutch, then British, now South African. There is a statue of the dog "Just Nuissance". He used to meet the men at the station and accompanied them to the base.
He died prematurely after a boisterous leap from a moving vehicle but is immortalised in a life-sized statue in Simon’s Town’s Jubilee Square.
