The prices of restaurants in Swellendam is much more absorbant than any restaurants in S.A.'s mayor cities and larger towns and force people to avoid them after dining there the first time. A rather nice restaurant is Mattsen's but at R140 for a T-bone steak??? Or maybe I am only spoiled with a bigger variety and competition at more reasonable prices from my own home town (Paarl/Wellington).
