At many of the scenic vista stops on R532, local merchants and craftspeople sell their wares at very reasonable prices. Most merchants will bargain. We got some great stone and wooden carvings at a tiny fraction of what we might pay at a gallery at home. Official signs at the scenic vistas state that the merchants are officially sanctioned and that tourists are encouraged to shop and contribute to the local economy.
