To see the ambience click the link to their site. It's clean and new using modern techniques with pebbles, stone, wood, steel and lighting to create a very satisfying open plan eating experience.
The food is well presented and tasty.
The service is (or tries to be) impeccable while also being relaxed ( i.e.you won't have snotty waiters hovering around your table, but they'll be be both attentive and out of your way when needed). If you are dissatisified, feel free to complain to management while still maintaining a friendly atmosphere, as opposed to other Sandton venues where a simple complaint can lead to an unhappy evening.
This is a great place for a dinner on your own as a businesman, a romantic couple, a lone traveller looking for friendly people, or just a whole group looking for a night of fun and perhaps to discover where to go next if you're into clubbing. The ambience of the place makes you all fit in quite nicely together. Also it's not a crash commercial restaurant teeming with tourists. Here you'll tap into the local crowd without feeling out of place. You'll keep your table for the whole night without having to be pressured by table turning waiters.
Check their website to see what events are happening during your visit. I went to a Cuban Salsa experience last week and the Musicians and dancers from Cuba were top notch.
I think what I mean is - It's jet set, but doesn't particularly care if you aren't, it can be a great place to have dinner and then go back to the hotel, or to have dinner and find out where the party is.
The managers name is Rui, ask for him if you need advice on anything. Tell him you found him here, I think he'd be suprised.
Favorite Dish: Carpaccio (if you're fussy ask them to bring the lemon olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the side)
Warm salad (ask if you can substitute this with the salad you get with main, it's delish)
Salmon - always cooked just so, pink and tender inside
Hamburger - a nice upmarket take on a classic and always good.
