Looking Down Onto The Crystall Court Room

This was a very pleasant afternoon in the very plush Palace dining room which is a lavishly furnished and decorated room with towering ceilings and long windows stretching from ceiling to floor. The table settings were appropriate for the room and complimented the High Tea theme.

Staff were very attentive and there were several musicians playing background music. As you decended the huge "Gone With The Wind" staircase into the dining room you walked past a table laden with exotic sweets and other mouth watering delights. Hours 3 to 5:30 pm.

Nice Views, Good Coffee

We visited this bar on 2 occasions for a short break whilst walking around the resort. Both times we had coffee and cake but you can also order beer, wine or spirits from the bar and smething more substantial to satisfy your hunger.

Situated on the terrace of the Cascades Hotel there are many tables with beautiful views over the pool and gardens. It is an ideal place to relax and discuss the day's activities.

Favorite Dish: Coffee & Cake.

Santorini: The Best Ever

Well, i have it as an Italian, but in all honesty it's WAY more than that :P Apart from traditional Italian fare, it also serves a wonderful steak, and amazing seafood. Situated within a pool area, the surroundings are beautiful, the ambience is very laid-back and friendly, and the service is top-notch. As could be expected though, the prices are also amazingly high :P We paid about R800 (incl. Tip) for 4 people.

Favorite Dish: I ate a beautiful fillet steak, cooked Med-rare (to perfection, i might add). Asia had a kingklip (her first taste of one of South Africa's best fish). Amazing.

Santorini is an upscale (but not stuffy) Greek seafood restaurant in the Cascades Hotel in Sun City. The restaurant is busy asnd noisy, but the waitstaff was friendly and the food was excellent. We enjoyed our fish dinners, and the dessert (Baclava) was excellent as well.

Santorini is open for bith lunch and dinner. It is kid friendly and hasa children's menu.

Vila Del Palazzo: North Italian food

The restaurant is perfectly located overlooking the royal pool and the crystal room. We did not eat here, but we were told that it was fine dining at its best. The menu really looked great offering Northern Italian cuisine.

This is Sun City's best restaurant so smart formal clothes are required. The restaurant is situated in the Palace Hotel. Booking is essential.

For the oh so British thing to do, you can have your high tea here at the Crystal Room for only R140 pp. They serve glorious cakes and other eats at this very plush Palace dining room which is a lavishly furnished and decorated with towering ceilings and long windows stretching from ceiling to floor.
In the background the piano player was playing many fun english songs. Hours 3 to 5:30 pm.

We ate our full breakfast buffet at the Palm Terrace, but they also serve a full dinner buffet. The chefs excel at creating imaginative theme style buffets at the Palm Terrace, the food is good and I think you get quite good value for money.

Cafe Scalini

This is an Italian style cafe with upmarket furnishings and bar. Very popular for lunch and we joined the crowd for an enjoyable light lunch and coffee. Open in the evenings with a menu which specialises in Italian food, however we did not dine there in the evening.

Located at the rear of the Entertainment Centre close to the main entrance to the Cascades Hotel.

The Raj & Other Cafes: Casino Hotel - Meals At Right Price

Various Cafes

The Sun City Hotel Casino has some upmarket restaurants including The Raj, however it also provides a cheaper cafe style dining area and The Raj also operates in this area. There are a variety of cafes and nice tables and chairs. We ordered from The Raj and found our meals to be very good.

After dining their one evening we left and 5 minutes later I noticed my wallet was missing. Quickly returned to the table where we ate but no wallet. I then asked at the pizza cafe and the manager handed it to me saying one of his staff picked it up off the floor. I left a nice tip for the honest employee.

Treasure Island Deck: Relax With A Coffee or Lunch @ Waterworld

Treasure Island Deck

On the lake edge overlooking the jetty, boats and other activity on the lake the Treasure Island cafe is an ideal place to enjoy a coffee or light lunch. We were there late May and the cloudless blue sky made the lake and surroundings shine.

On our departure day we decided to have lunch at Treasure Island whilst we waited for pick up and transfer to Johanesburg airport. We sat at a table with an excellent view over the lake and ordered fish with Greek salad and a fish burger. The fish was South African perch and most enjoyable. I can recommend this cafe/ restaurant for those who enjoy a nice casual lunch with view.
