Why Are African runners so good? Ever watched the Olympics? Runners from countries you might not otherwise hear of win medals every time. Genetics? Maybe there is a more simple reason. Running doesn’t need equipment. I grew up in America where to play American Football you needed hundreds of dollars per person just to practice. Running requires heart, stamina and skill. It does not require a lot of money. Combine that with some excellent weather and a lot of pride – you get some of the greatest runners in history.
Equipment: Even shoes are optional.
If you like great landscapes and outdoor sport, Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe is your place!
There are in Vic Falls many sport agencies offering you any possible outdoor and extreme activity, like:
- Whitewater rafting.
- Bunjy jumping
- Horseback riding
- Helicopter ide
There are also a lot of activities from the other side, Zambia, and they use to be cheaper, but most of the people sleep in the zimbabwean side, so they end up taking zimbabwean agencies.
When I’m in an African city, village or even in the bush. One of my favourite things to do is, just sit and observe. The local people doing their thing and I enjoy just watching the life go by. Sometimes you start a conversation with a stranger, sometimes you whiteness a discussion. You see smiles, you see tears, you hear the traffic pass and other times you enjoy the silence. You should try it, it will free your mind.
You don't have to be a skilled climber to reach the 396 meters high top of "Mount Nienokoue".
You'll only need a good physical condition to walk the rough terrain in front of the mountain.
Mount Nienokoue is located in the Southern part of Tai National Park, which has been a World Heritage Site since 1982.
When you're lucky you'll come across a lot of different forest animals.
Such as: Bongos, Chimpanzees, Forest Buffalos, Snakes, Duikers and I even saw footprints of forest elephants.
When you're on top of the mountain you'll see a sea of green.
So take your time and enjoy the magnificent views.
This is one of the largest unspoiled areas of rainforest remaining in West Africa.
This gruelling competition attracts competitors and spectators from around the globe. More than 500 runners battle it out to be the first to race to the summit of Mount Cameroon and back again. It takes place in the last weekend of January or the first weekend of February in Buea(southwest province). The course, covering a marathon length of 26 miles, is steep, exhausting, and unforgiving. The star of this endurance race is a woman called Sarah Etonge, who lives close to Mount Cameroon. She has been dubbed 'the Queen of the Mountain' as in recent years she has won the race four times in a row.
Football (soccer) is a fantastic team sport that needs very little money or equipment. You just need a ball. Goals are often fashioned out of some wood and string and I have yet to see kids playing on grass in Africa. The kids love it and you can help very quickly and cheaply. Buy the kids a football. For $2-3 you will keep a neighbourhood of children off the streets and on the playing field.

When you're staying in Egypt/the Red Sea area(Hurghada) you should try a snorkel trip.
I don't think it is an unforgettable experience, but it is worth a try.
Most of the coral reefs reserved for the snorklers are destroyed by snorkelers, so don't expect to see the images you'll see on TV.
You'll come across large amounts of colourful fish and you'll see what is left of the once beautiful coral reefs.
A full day snorkelling trip with food and drinks will cost you 30 euros or more.
Equipment: included in the price
