    The road from Sennar where we were living at the time to Dinder was on rough roads, so we travelled by Land Rover. A 4x4 is essential both to and around the reserve as you have to manipulate the steep banks of the dry river beds, and sometimes muddy areas.

    Luggage and bags: Old cases or backpacks

    Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: strong shoes.
    jeans and shirts
    or skirts

    Toiletries and Medical Supplies: anything you are likely to need
    Anti malaria drugs, mosquito repellent
    anti-diarrhoea tablets

    Photo Equipment: Plenty batteries as charging may not be possible

    Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: We took folding beds, mattresses and bedding

    Miscellaneous: a torch especially when needing the toilet at night, in case of snakes, scorpions or creeepie-crawlies
