Prepare for the heat- or the cold
In the summer it is very very hot. Cotton is the most suitable fabric to wear, and the garments should be loose and have long sleeves. Trainers are good for walking in the desert or around archaeological sites. Some form of headgear [cap or scarf] is necessary .In winter it can very cold, so a sweater of jacket would be needed in the evening or early morning. No.1 on the list should be sunscreen, the higher the factor, the better, as the sites offer no shade. With most people now having digital cameras, it is obvious that sufficient memory and rechargeable batteries are essential. However, an adapter is a must. I had experienced trouble further south with the flat type of plugs, so got an adapter to round two pin- as everywhere I had seen there were only two-pin sockets available.
