This area at the extreme west of Sudan has a temperate climate. At present it is not safe to visit this area, but hopefully soon there will be security again.
In the meantime be a virtual tourist.
The mountain itself is an extinct volcano. There are lakes and waterfalls there.

The museum is small but contains exhibits from the time of Ali Dinar. These include large copper vessels and decorative door, as well as items of clothing and other oddments relating to his life and times.
