Dorat el Funj: Singa roadside cafe
This used to be THE cafe in Singa, but there is now a modern burger joint that has taken over that function.Dorat el Funj [Jewel of the Funj] is a cafe typical of many found in the country towns. Tables and chairs are basic [metal and plastic] but the seating is all outside with bougainvillea and trees in the background. Tables cater for 4 but there is a larger one that can seat 10, and there are stacks of tables and chairs for when the cafe is crowded. The menu also is basic and food is served in small stainless steel or aluminium dishes. We ordered a number of dishes as we had been on the road all day and had only had breakfast.Lentils 1500 Sud poundsOmelette 2000 SPfried meat [shaya] 3500 SP The fried lamb was tasty, but everything was satisfactory.
