Getting Around Wilayat al Jazirah

From Khartoum, just turn up at Souq ash-Sha'abi at any time of the day (not too late though), and you'll be bundled onto a bus within a few minutes. For 700 dinar, you can take an ordinary bus (facilities limited to windows you can open, a drink of water from a communal cup, and a radio blasting out Sudanese pop music), while if you are willing to pay a little extra, you can take a "luxury bus" (air-con, toffees, water, Pepsi, and a TV) for 1300 dinar. The journey takes between three and four hours.
