Getting Around Wilayat al Qadarif

Gedarif is on the main Khartoum-Port Sudan "highway", and is about 6 hours from Khartoum by bus. All the major bus companies go there, and prices should be around 20,000 pounds one way. From Kassala, you can take a "hafla", which is a fairly beaten up bus which leaves when full...the journey takes three to four hours, and buses leave both ways from morning until mid afternoon, making Gedarif a possible if long day trip from Kassala, or vice versa. Our hafla journey cost us 7000 pounds each way.
