Buses etc...
Getting to Kosti from Khartoum is straightforward...just go to Souk ash-Sha'abi before mid-afternoon, and you'll find haflas waiting to fill. The journey takes about 4 hours. Travelling on, you'll have to find Kosti's souq ash-sha'abi, which is no mean feat...local transport to various places around town leaves from a dusty patch of land behind the central mosque, and you have to ask around for the bus station...it isn't obvious. There didn't seem to be any direct muwasilaat to the bus station, so you'll be put on a minibus, then chucked off at the suitable place and pointed in the right direction. The souq around the bus station was the liveliest thing we saw anywhere in Kosti, and while waiting for our bus to El obeid to fill, we had enough time to explore.
