Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Walking around Zanzibar is a fantastic way to see everything, but you get plenty of hazards. Natural ones are the usual rocks, vines, animal droppings, etc. Manmade items like glass and other rubbish make an appearance from time to time. And if that wasn’t enough – the rainy season will make you want those quick dry light hiking boots!

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Shoes that dry quickly and can get completely wet if you want to walk the sea bed during low tide or going for a walk in the rainy season. YOU MUST WEAR SHOES to walk out to the seaweed beds and coral reef edge. Simple flip flops get stuck in the mud. A waterproof poncho is essensial during the heavy rainy season.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Bandages
Photo Equipment: Batteries
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Mosquito repellent (you can buy coils locally).
Miscellaneous: Snack food for between meals except fresh fruit. Only 2 shops sell potato chips! Quite a few places sell fresh fruit cheaply.
