Local artisans sell wooden (teak, rosewood and ebony), elephant hair and cotton batik crafts in stores that you can find on the eastbound side of the road between Arusha and Lake Manyara.
Always haggle and never pay the ridiculous prices that they initially quote you.
We found these stores to be the most reasonably priced and had the most selection of anywhere on the Safari tour.
What to buy: Wooden Crafts - candlesticks, masks, maasai warrior busts, etc
Batik designs of cloth, elephant hair bracelets, beaded jewelery
What to pay: Never pay the asking price, but haggle. Start with 50% of asking price and work your way up.
