We did this trip as part of a 6-day safari in the region. It will be extremely difficult to find transportation along this route if you don't have your own.

Furthermore a 4WD is almost essential, since the road is a drive through the wilderness. In raining season it will be hard to reach Lake Natron, even with 4WD.

To reach Lake Natron from Arusha will take 6 hours.
