During the dance evening, audience participation was encouraged. Fortunately, Urbain, our guide from Banjul, had a crush on one of the local women, and was more than willing to dance with her! It didn't stop the rest of us from being picked on mind! Go for it! Don't worry about making a fool of yourself, you will more than likely never see these people ver again! Have fun! The alternative of course, is to be a miserable old git and sit on the sidelines making fun of everyone else!

Hustlers

Although they are not as persistent here as they are along the coast, you still get your fair share of hustlers! Either they are selling bananas or nuts, they want you to give them a gift, they want to be your friend............ By all means chat to them, but if you do give them your address (many will ask), you are guranteed to receive a begging letter after your return home!
