The beach area between Fajara and Kotu Point is very scenic, especially the surrounding area just behinbd the beach.

South of the Kotu beach this river streams into the ocean. The views at the river are very nice because of lots of green and palmtrees and the reflections in the water.

The first time we arrived in Gambia, we were surprised by a very warm welcome at the Yundum International airport. A group young men and women were dancing in colourfull clothes at the platform at our arrival.

It was a wonderful start of our first one week stay in this country.

At the entrance of most hotels you find guides that will take you around. As far as my hobby concerned many poor and some good guides are around in The Gambia. This bloke on the picture together with my mate Wim is Mustapha Kassama and he can be reached at mustaphakassama@yahoo.com
He is a friendly bloke that can show you many birds around the Kololi area but also we went with him inland, and did a tour with a jeep, and driver.
The overall man that takes birders around and he can help you out is Salomon Jallow you can reach him at habitatafrica@hotmail.com he organises tours and is an expert guide. You can find below his website!

Bird watching in the Gambia is excellent so even if you have no knowledge a visit to the abuko nature reserve is a must, you must visit the hide which overlooks the croc pool, and there is a bird identification area with pictures and details

Why not consider spending this Christmas in The Gambia, Santa arrived by boat and we spent the morning sunbathing around the pool, but hotels make a big effort to make Christmas a special occasion with Christmas dinner with all the trimmings

Even if you havent played golf you will find this a unique experience, the Greens are actually sand soaked in oil and rolled flat with a roller before each shot, you aslo get a local caddie who is extremely good at finding your lost ball, If you are a golfer dont expect to play to you handicap
