Bakau Things to Do

Bakau fishing village is in the heart of the town and is a wonderful bustle of activity when the long fishing pirogues come in. There are loads of cheap Bonga Fish which is made in to local fishballs. There are the ugliest fish in the market, the butter fish, which when skinned and filletted make a fabulous dish, rather like monk fish tails. You will get hassled by the local lads trying to make a fast buck from showing you around but it is worth it and you can always say no if you want. Colourful and vibrant!
