Here's the deal....the fetish market is a fairly small area with tables displaying items such as dried lizards, animal skulls etc. As soon as you enter, you will be approached by the rip-off squad and asked for ridiculous admission fees. At first I was asked for 15,000 CFA($30)...when I gave the look of disgust, and after more refusals, the price came down..finally to 5,000($10), still too much, but they wouldn't budge. After I'd had enough of these buttholes, I turned and walked away while they tried to get me to come back. This market is a total sham!!
Unique Suggestions: My advice is don't go in the first place, but if you do, be ready to part with $10- $30 just to walk around and have a look at a bunch of crap that is only there for the sole purpose of fleecing tourists. There were no locals shopping for their voodoo supplies, just a dozen or so tourists getting ripped off.
Fun Alternatives: Go back to Accra for Christ's sake!! You came all the way to Lome for this bull...t??
