For cheap transport in Lome, just flag down a guy on a motorbike. You won't wait long for a ride. These aren't official taxis, just regular guys trying to make a little cash. I used many while staying in Lome, and they seem very honest...I never felt ripped off. Prices are usually from 100CFA(20 cents)- 500($1), depending on distance and the driver.
Bush taxi (Taxi brousse) is the easiest way to move around in Togo. Private car packed with passengers travel around the country. Lomè to Agbodrafo is 1000 CFA (1,5 hours drive). Lomé to to Cotonou is 4.000 CFA (4-5 hours drive).
A lot of motorcycle taxis are cruising around in Lomé. Just make a "psst sound", and the nearest moto-taxi will stop. Just say where you are going and settle the price. To ride them expect to pay anything from 200 to 400 CFA (less than 1 USD). But make sure you have the exact amount of money. Most of them will not change. To be a passenger on a motorcycle without a helmet is a safety consideration, but the mode of transport is very quick and easy. Only one passenger is allowed on the bike.
Lome's taxis are fairly cheap, and the drivers usually don't overcharge. A trip within Lome probably won't be more than a few dollars.
