it,s not a shoop. At the plazaon open air
What to buy: desert rouses at nefta, camel leader figures of womens, ceramicat isle de jerba, handmade carpets in kairouan.tunisian oil and datils. spices, henna, etc at gabes.
What to pay: you are expected to bargain. So say a price lower than you think it is. then the salesman will say double than this and then is your turn and so on. I bought a travelguide from tunis in at five stars hotel?s shop and I pay 13 dinars, then my friends get it for just 3 dinars, so take care, not only bargain at markets but everywhear?

There are many shops selling a wide variety of tourist souvenirs and all kinds of Tunisian handy craft. There is also a large selection of copy handbags and perfums.
Best of all every purchase is great fun, but be ready to haggle. If you don't you are likely to pay three times what you need.

If you are seeking for some craft, then go stra8 to the Medina, the old part of the city, altough here you MUST bargain, (and this in some cases is also funny), because the price they will require you is pretty hight (almost offer abt the 30% of the request).
In a way is pretty stressed and a lot of shops could be also considering a tourist trap as the stuff they are selling are just bullsh**
But in general here you can find a lot of nice stuff to bring home as a memory, i.e. Aghile, ceramics, candels, silk, textile in general, jewels and so on…but remember BARGAIN!!!!

narrow ,winding paths of shops selling a huge variety of interesting wares.
What to buy: Many.many beautiful things! Shoes, Jewelery, interesting clothing, bellydance costumes, tea sets,"hubbly bubbly" pipes, perfume, handicrafts and on and on and on....I wanted to buy quite a bit, but unfortunately did not buy anything there, because I was quite intimidated....I did buy some things at other places though...Please see my "tourist trap" tip for some scams
What to pay: haggle, haggle, haggle! offer no more than half of what they tell you! I am not kidding! For example a keychain that I looked at at the souks that the guy wanted 5TD for was for sale at the bardo Museum for 2 TD and also for sale at a kiosk on the a main street for only 1 TD
