What to buy:
Go to Ave. des Martyrs to do your shopping, for there are several shops alongside it. Among the most popular things to load yourselves with there are:
*desert roses (but mind the fact that they are quite heavy and
you'll have to drag them back to your resort),
*Saharan sandals (10-20 USD for the best quality ones),
*local tribe garments (useful if you wish to do some camel trekking) and -- my passion -- *inevitable postcards!
What to pay:
Just do not pay immediately the sum you are told -- remember you are expected to bargain (though I'm not good at it myself).
